One of the real perks of coming into the office is celebrating a win together.
On our team, that's a gong.
Every evening around 6pm, whoever just turned a deal into an SQL walks up and hits it, then tells the room how they got there.
The approach, the multi-channel back-and-forth, how they finally got the right person to answer.
I work with double-digit BDRs, and the more evenings I sat through it, the more I noticed what the ritual was quietly missing.
A few stories conveyed the real lesson; others did not. The person at the back of the floor usually couldn’t hear it, and if someone was not in the room, they had no way to know why.
So now the gong still goes off every evening. About 30 minutes before it does, something else runs quietly in the background.
An n8n workflow reads the full account journey behind every SQL created that day: every call, email, meeting, LinkedIn ad view, form fill, gift, page view, intent signal, pulled from CRM data sitting in Snowflake. An LLM turns that journey into two things.
One, a message to the BDR channel on Slack, same shape every time: what worked, the key learning, how to repeat it. Behind it sits a longer page in Confluence: every persona engaged, the channel that converted, the exact moment it turned, every attempt and its date, the blocker that got cleared.
Two, and this is the part I didn't plan for going in: a second message, to a different Slack channel, in its own fixed shape: the gap, what the ideal action would have been, and who owns fixing it.
Because a win only tells you the deal closed. It doesn't tell you what almost didn't.
Three examples from the last few weeks:
1. Ops - 13 calls to prospects that were dead the whole time. Not a hustle problem. A CRM record nobody had updated.
2. Marketing - a prospect engaged an awareness ad on LinkedIn and never got moved into high-intent retargeting.
3. BDR motion - calls landed, but never got paired with a persona-specific email or LinkedIn follow-up.
The gong still tells the room a deal closed. Now something else tells us what almost made it not happen.
